QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCE DETERMINATION: I. Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred. II. License/Certifications: i. current Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse license, ii. clinical advancement of levels II through IV is sequential. Promotion to and/or maintenance of attained levels is awarded following successful application to the Martha Jefferson Advancement in Professional Practice Committee, iii. professional certification in area of practice is desirable; recommended for Clinical II -IV, required for Clin V, - iv. BLS certification required; additional life support requirements per department.
MAJOR FUNCTION: The Registered Nurse provides nursing care that includes clinical judgment, caring, collaboration, evaluation and education reflecting an integration of knowledge, skills, experience, and attitudes needed to meet the needs of patients and families. |
